Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative
General, Unified, Multiscale Modeling to Predict the Sensitivity of Energetic Materials

Mission

The mission is to develop and apply theoretical/computational methods to understand and predict the sensitivity of energetic materials subject to externally impressed mechanical and thermal loadings. The ultimate goal is to establish a unified framework within which various underlying physical-chemical mechanisms and controlling parameters that dictate material responses to stimuli are identified over broad spatial and temporal scales.
